1 9-inch frozen deep dish pie pastry shell
2/3 cup table (granulated) white sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup whole pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Blend with a whisk in a bowl the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, salt, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
Add both the chopped and whole pecans to the bowl and turn with a rubber spatula until well combined.
Pour the mixture into the frozen pie shell.
Set on baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes; spin the pie around in the oven so the front is in back and the back is in front, and bake another 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is set and solid.
Remove and set pie on wire rack to cool completely before serving.
